AUDITION NOTICE: Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado

We want you to be part of our big fun summer musical!

Freeport Players announce AUDITIONS for Gilbert & Sullivan’s well-known light opera, The Mikado. Featured roles for 7M/4W (adults and older teens), plus ensemble roles for ages 14 and up. Believe us, the ensemble gets loads of attention and quite a workout in this show! (If you saw Pirates last summer or are familiar with Gilbert & Sullivan, you know what I mean.) Auditions will be held Tuesday, April 10, and Thursday, April 12, 6:30-8:30pm at Freeport Middle School, 19 Kendall Ln. Be prepared to read from the script and sing a song from the score suitable for your vocal range.

Actors are encouraged to e-mail Elizabeth at info@fcponline.org so we’ll know to expect you and can notify you if there is critical new information or a schedule change. If you would like to audition but are unable to attend either of the scheduled sessions, please let us know.

Directed by Stephanie Ross (Acorn Productions, Massabeesic HS), music direction by David Delano (Pirates of Penzance). Rehearsals begin in May. Performances at Freeport Performing Arts Center July 19 – August 5. The night of nights! … Another openin’, another show!

We will open this Friday, February 24, 2012 at The Grand Auditorium in Ellsworth at 7:30pm!  We will have a very special guest playing the role of The Associate in “Trial By Jury”!  And “A Gilbert & Sullivan Musicale” will be absolutely fantastic!

We’re very excited about the program we have planned and we hope you are too!!  Send us an email or find our event on Facebook “Trial By Jury and A G&S Musicale!”  Come see the show, and stay afterwards to chat with us once we’ve cleaned up a bit!  Can’t wait!!!

There’s still a little time left!  Please join us on Tuesdays at 7:oo pm for our rehearsals.  We are still learning “Trial”, and several numbers from a variety of G&S shows.  Location: MAINE COAST BAPTIST CHURCH, Bangor Road (Rte 1A), just North of Ellsworth.
